Egg no. 2 Appears

Egg no. 2 was laid sometime this afternoon, probably between 1 and 5:50 PM. Right now, I can’t narrow down the time better than that.

The time between eggs will increase with each egg, so some patience will be required before we know the size of this clutch. As always, stay tuned.

Thank-you so much for owl updates on your blog. It has been a go-to place all winter long for me, but now it is a daily necessity :-)

  3. Yea! So excited to see an AUSTIN owl cam. I used to follow one in CA that is no longer working. I've caught a few glimpses of owls in our neighborhood but nothing as neat as this. Thanks for updating and keep it up! :-)

  4. I put up an owl box last May -- likely was too late for use. But there have been owls in the neighborhood for the last couple of years -- last summer I watched the babies most every evening. Imagine how excited I was last Sunday, to see a screech owl gazing out the window - she spent all day Sunday there, went out for dinner with her partner in the evening. Did not see her Monday - but did again yesterday. I have been watching here daily - this is my first year to keep an eye on your site. It is so helpful -- makes me wonder if my owl is doing the same things as yours.

  5. This is the first year for us to have an owl nesting in our box. I watch here thinking my owl may be doing similar activities. Thanks for sharing - you site is so cool. I found it last year after nesting season -- will be fun to watch throughout this season.
